It all started when Dr Lars Rüther (molecular and cell biologist) was looking for a solution for his 14-year-old daughter's blemished skin. He sensed her high level of suffering and started researching a care and treatment line for acne-prone skin that is effective and does not require a doctor's visit.

However, the research was frustrating and remained unsuccessful. As the head of the research department of a dermatological testing institute, it was clear to him that a self-developed and manufactured solution was needed. Preferably personalised because acne is very individual in its intensity and manifestation.

That's when he met Dr Dr Ilsabe Bunge, who suffered from severe acne herself as a child and teenager, which is why she decided to do her specialist training in dermatology as an adult. United in their awareness of the suffering that acne can cause sufferers, the two decided to work together to develop a holistic & sustainable facial care for skin affected by blemishes and acne.

The project took about 2 years, and the result is impressive: enka's acne kit consisting of an acne test for home use (evaluation in our laboratory in Stuttgart), acne cleanser and acne care - a personalised and thus dermatologically reasonable skin care for acne and impurities.
